We have never been to Z arts before and I was absolutely blown away the space!
We were kindly to visit their 100 Story Hotel, a brand new interactive and immersive collaboration with children’s author Rod Biddulph.
We set of in the morning complete with toddler and baby and parked up on a nearby street (3 hours free parking) and made our way into Z arts.
We checked in at reception, we were a bit early so stopped for a latte and a chocolate brownie in the cafe (the brownie was delicious and also very reasonably priced).
We were then called in for a slot with a group of other families and all sat on the carpet outside the 100 Story Hotel. There all the children were invited into the hotel, invited to be detectives and given clipboards and magnifying glasses to help search for clues.
The concept is built around helping Clive the concierge to discover who stole the 100th story in the 100 story hotel. Once inside there are lots of little rooms for children to explore that are all immersive and interactive.
There was everything from a beach, to a little football station, an alphabet vending machine, a role play laundry room to a stage show!
The best thing about this space is your children can enjoy it at their own pace and spend more time in rooms that interest them more and less time in others.
Z arts have been incredibly clever and creative in how they have created the space to appeal to different age groups, there were activity sheets and clues to be found for older children, lots of interactive activities for toddlers and our baby loved all the sensory colours and things dangling down from the ceiling!
I’d highly recommend Z arts to anyone with children, we have never been to anywhere like it but it’s the perfect place for children to run around, use their imagination and explore. Make sure you stop for coffee and cake in the cafe too! We will be keeping an eye out on the other activities and events at Z arts! They have a live production of Tom Fletchers “There’s a monster in my book” on over Easter weekend.
As a side note we absolutely Rob Biddulph’s book- which the experience is based on! He’s an amazing author and his books in particular are really helping our 3 year old with her phonics with the repetition. We are big fans of Blown Away.
