Whoosh soft play in Bracknell CLOSED DOWN in July 2023
Having been voted runner up Best Soft Play 3 years in a row, if you’re looking for an indoor soft play to take kids to in Bracknell, Whoosh Play Centre is the answer.
Located in Bracknell Leisure Centre just outside of the town centre, it has ample free parking with paved pedestrian access to the entrance of which is situated at the back of the leisure centre near the running track.
On arrival temperature checks were done on both adults and children and hand sanitiser was given.
Whoosh has one large 3 level soft play apparatus. Its not in the biggest of spaces but what was on offer within the soft play was a lot of fun!
It had something on offer for many ages including a ground floor level for under 3’s that had a mixture of soft play blocks to climb and stack along with a mixture of hand held toys that they could sit and play with which I thought was a lovely touch and not often seen in a soft play environment. They normally have a little slide with ball pit which unfortunately they’ve had to remove but you can imagine that being a fabulous addition.
Above this there was the space for 3yrs and up. This had many entrances including a crazy mirror entrance! Once inside, there were arrows on the floor to try and encourage a one way play flow.
There is a mixture of crawl through tunnels, a tubed tunnel spiral slide, rope bridges, mini trampolines and the main feature which was the epic three bumpy slides which takes you from the top level down to the bottom (which does whizz down pretty fast!) Again this normally finishes in a ball pit area but this has been removed since covid.
There was an upstairs seating area which gives you a view of the top floor and access via a rope bridge to the upper level. This wasn’t in use but I believe is a popular space for birthday parties. They do also offer laser tag parties which gives you exclusive access to the play area for ages 4-14 years.
I took my 3 year old who quickly made a friend and was off exploring on his own. There aren’t many multi level soft plays that I would feel comfortable doing that with as normally there’s that restricted eye view worry and he’s not often a fan whizzing down the large slides to exit so it was lovely for him to have that little bit of freedom and I managed to consume a hot drink – bliss!
There is a small café serving a surprisingly large variety of hot and cold food options for both adults and children as well as an extensive drinks menu all reasonably priced.
There are highchairs available for younger ones. It’s worth noting that they do ask for buggies to not be brought in due to limited space so if you do have a baby, you may need a sling or carry them in the car seat.
Prebooking is essential as they do book up very quickly. Booking can be made either online or by phone Whoosh Play and Party Centre (whooshplaycentre.com)
Prices differ for weekday and weekends and start from £1 for under 1’s to £7 at weekends for over 3’s. They kindly ask that you keep to a minimum of 2 adults per group.
I’m not sure my 9 year old would have had much to keep him entertained for the 2 hour play session.
