After an active morning of family fun at The Flower Bowl entertainment centre, we headed to The Ocean Fish & Chip Restaurant which is just next door for lunch.
This restaurant quite possibly serves up the best chippy chips ever. I personally couldn’t stop eating mine even though I had reached the full feeling.
This is a Fish & Chip restaurant so the majority of their menu was like a classic chippy. With haddock, sausage, fishcakes and pies served with yummy sides of chips, mushy peas and then to start the debate of which is best, gravy or curry! They also had salads, burgers, starters and desserts to create a more restaurant style menu.
The restaurant decor was 100% fishy. The walls were rolling waves, the ceiling was a constantly changing under the sea image and through the windows it was like a fishtank in an aquarium. It was fin-tastic.
The children’s meals were of a good size, especially for the price. Battered fish bites and Mac & cheese bites were selected by my girls. Both came with those amazing chips and a pot of baked beans.
After my generous starter of calamari, I went for a medium haddock, those to die for chips and curry sauce. The fish was lovely and flakey and those chips! Have I mentioned the chips being good?
Cheese and Onion Pie was my husbands choice, and even though my fish was nice I did have some pie jealousy. To finish our meal, the girls got a dessert each of chocolate brownie and mini donuts. All we could muster, was to share a bowl of ice cream! After finishing all the chips.
