Wow! A full on day at The Ice Cream Farm. We arrived at 11am and left at 4.30pm,my daughters and niece played non stop the whole time.

When we first arrived the girls had a good play on the free play area at the entrance. It’s almost like a teletubby land with grassy hills with tunnels and bridges, trampolines dug into the ground and swings and slides galore.

The girls then went on the massive new inflatable which is 1 play pass to go on. I asked the staff how long do they get thinking it would be 5 mins but was surprised to hear it was unlimited. They could stay on for as long as they wanted, come off and go back on any time and even could skip the queue to go back on.

They got a blue wrist band to show this. I think this is a great idea and the girls really enjoyed the inflation play area so went on and off it a few times during the day.

There is also the Marshmallow Mounds which runs in the same way with unlimited play. We chose not to go on these as was similar to the inflatable.

In the centre of the farm is a massive strawberry themed 12 hole crazy golf course. Each player uses a play pass to play. It took us about 30mins to play the 12 holes and we were lucky to not have someone behind us so we could take our time over the shots enjoy the game.

We stopped for a refuel, there are plenty of picnic tables in the “chill zone” so we enjoyed our picnic there. If you didn’t bring a picnic there are plenty of places to get food including the Pit Stop which serves hotdogs and kids lunch boxes. Sticky Paws which serves burgers and loaded fries. A full cafe next to the indoor soft play and also a pizza and pasta from Pizza Piazza. (prices August 2022)

It was a hot day so I got the girls a slushie, they had 8 flavours to choose from. The only negative I would say is that the small size at £3 was probably too big for most younger children so it’s a shame they don’t do a smaller one.

We sat and enjoyed the slushies while we waited for the count down on the fun, colourful bubble tree which sits as a centre piece of the play area. Every 30minutes the tree plays music and a cascade of bubbles fall from the branches. All the children run to the tree as soon as the music plays and you can hear squeals of delight.

Next we went to the Sand and Water play area. You don’t need to pre book a time slot any more and we only had to queue for a minute before getting in. It had a suggested a time limit of 30 minutes however this wasn’t very strict. We arrived at this at 1.30pm and it felt like everyone had done the same, it was the busiest I’d seen it and sadly it was quite hard to get on the water and sand activities.

One pump wasn’t working at all making a whole section redundant so this didn’t help. The other end of the sand and water area had some big wooden climbing frames, this area was quieter so we headed there for the majority of the time, and the girls enjoyed making their way along the assault course. If I went again I would definitely make this the first activity you do as it being so busy did effect the girls playing enjoyment.

Back outside the girls enjoyed another go on the inflatables and then played on the free outside play area while I queued up for some of the legendary ice creams the farm sell. There are well over 60 flavours with new ones being brought in all the time. You can have them in a number of different cones or tubs and even on waffles.

I sadly hit the ice cream queue at a bad time and was there for 40minutes before getting served. When the girls saw me with the ice creams finally they were very happy and enjoyed them sitting on a bench cooling down after their play.

Before heading home we chose to go on the Rocky Road cars. I queued up for about 20mins. All the girls really enjoyed the cars which were little off road jeeps and the road was bumpy with a few hills making it much more interesting than a tarmac road.

Walking back to the car we were all happy, tired and full of ice cream which I think every guest would be feeling after their visit to the Ice Cream Farm.
