If you are looking for a couple of hours out in the fresh air, followed by a spot of lunch or afternoon tea then Rode Hall and Gardens is a lovely trip out. We visited the Bluebell in blooms walk, but there are other events throughout the year.
Gardens at Rode Hall
The gardens are extremely well maintained and pretty with some beautiful flowers, set on a 10-acre site amongst sheep grazed parkland. There are two main garden areas the Formal Garden and The Kitchen Garden.
There are also lots of woodlands walks ideal for younger children and lots of very buggy-friendly pathways. Our kids loved playing hide and seek amongst the impressive trees and shrubbery. Dogs are also welcome in the gardens but must be on leads.
Bluebell and Snowdrop walks at Rode Hall
We had a lovely walk through the carpet of bluebells, the children really enjoyed it and as you can see, we managed to get some brilliant photos!
The Bluebell walk usually runs from the end of April to early May, and the Snowdrop walk usually runs from the end of January to early February. Tickets can be purchased through the website. Find all the best bluebell woodland walks in Cheshire.
The House at Rode Hall
The Georgian Country House at Rode Hall is very impressive and has a great view over the lake. When Roger Wilbraham purchased the estate in 1669 nothing remains of the original building, instead stands a fine red-brick country house. The house now remains a family home but also allows visitors to experience its warm and welcoming feel. The house is only currently open on Wednesdays but please check the website for further opening times.
Rode Hall Courtyard Kitchen
The Rode Hall Courtyard Kitchen offers a wide selection of homemade cakes, lunches, and cream teas as well as hot and cold drinks. Currently, lunches and snacks are being served outdoors but they do have an indoor and outdoor seating area. I can highly recommend the Victoria Sponge cake it was yummy! The Courtyard Kitchen is very family-friendly too.

Situated in Scholar Green, Cheshire just between the A34 ad A50 close to Little Moreton Hall. There is plenty of parking available. The nearest train station is 2 miles away in Kidsgrove.
Guide Prices for Rode Hall and Gardens 2024
