Chester’s Christmas lights switch on event takes place on Thursday 23rd November 2023 at 7pm. The Town Hall Square Christmas tree will herald the light up of the entire city.

Chester Christmas Parade

Chester’s 12 Days of Christmas Paradewill light up each street as children pass through with their handmade lanterns.

Chester Cathedral

Chester Cathedral Christmas Tree Festival will be turned on for the first time on Thursday 23rd Nov.  Choral Evensong is on between 5:30 – 6:15, the Christmas Tree Festival switch-on, intimate carol service and viewing hour will follow from 6:30pm – 7:30pm with a glass of Prosecco or a soft drink alternative.
