During the school holidays the Cockfields Farm Park goes all out putting on special themed events such as their Easter EGGStravaganza, Pumpkin Picking, and an amazing Christmas experience (which I have my eye on for this year). When it’s just their normal opening days there is still so much to do on the Farm. Including meeting the animals, an array of daily activities, a playground and bouncy pillow.
There are tractor rides around the farm, we always enjoy this, the trailor is a nice big one with a roof so is great for all weather conditions. Take a walk around the duck pond.
Included in your ticket price you get unlimited rides on the fairground carousel. This is a small ride so its suitable for up to 10 years.
There is a Play area where you will find a large wooden playframe and swings and perfect for a sunny day.
No place is complete without a bounce on the huge Bouncy Pillow (weather permitting) and you can get messy in the outdoor sand and water play zone.
There are so many animals on the farm. There are Alpacas, goats, sheep, cows, horses and meerkats to look at and you can buy bags of food (£1.80) to feed some of them. Along side all this there were lots of time slots throughout the day to have a closer look and meet some of the animals.

We loved seeing the animals. We didn’t manage to get to all the animal encounters in one day so next time we go we will try to concentrate on that more as my girls really enjoyed this part of the day and the experiences were a lot more hands on than some other farms we have visited. The timetable is great as lots of the encounters are repeated.
The cafe serves plenty of options for hot and cold lunches, drinks and cakes. There is even a separate display of homemade gluten free cakes. You can also grab an ice cream from one of the ice cream stalls. There is one inside by the cafe and also one outside which also has a pizza menu so plenty of options to buy food. If you want to bring a picnic there is an inside picnic room and plenty of picnic benches outside too.
Right by the cafe is also “Imagination Lane” which is a role play village. There is a shop, post office, beauty salon, performance stage. Its perfect for the kids to play in while you grab a quick coffee.
The whole place is well looked after and tidy especially with the fact it’s a working farm. There are lots of photo opportunities with a giant chair, photo frames and even a set of stocks. Brightly coloured decorations are all over the place and alot of effort has been put in to making the place look interesting and fun. There are plenty of signs to help you identify each area and know which animals are where.
What makes the place so great is the staff. They are fab! First off there are lots of staff so there is always someone to answer any questions and they are very knowledgeable about the animals. They are friendly and the ones that are dressed up as characters are really giving it their all.
