Ooh la la, move over cupcakes and hello macarons. These dainty Parisian treats are made from two delicate almond meringue biscuits sandwiched around a delicious filling.
Local Oxfordshire based Kidlington baker Cakey More kindly dropped over a box for me to try with six inviting macarons. Nutella, salted caramel, mocha, lemon, chocolate orange and mint chocolate.
The Cakey More macarons came beautifully packaged, wrapped in vibrant pink tissue paper which makes them a gorgeous and unique gift to give to someone on their birthday or just to say you’re thinking of them.
It’s difficult to create the perfect macaron, but Cakey More has it mastered. Smooth on the outside, just the right amount of crispness as you bite in and a subtle chew. The flavours were bang on too. With my first sumptuous bite of the lemon I declared it was my favourite but the others matched up too.
