Reddish Vale Farm

What a fantastic day out! Reddish Vale Farm is packed with so much to see and do. We were there all day and didn’t manage to do everything so we can’t wait to go back again soon. Its one of our new favourites.

The first thing my girls spotted was an indoor play barn. Inside there are two areas, one for under 3s & one for under 10s. It’s not massive but it’s always good to have an inside option incase of poor weather. In the barn there is also a Role Play Area. This was really good & includes a farm shop, vets, a petrol station & other shops plus plenty of accessories.

Their big barn of farm animals is full of the brim with horses, cows, goats, donkeys, alpacas and sheep. Make sure you buy your bucket of carrots as you enter. For just £1 you get alot of carrots. My 8 year old really enjoyed feeding the sheep, cows and goats so much that when she ran out of carrots she starting picking up the dropped carrots off the floor to make sure they didn’t go to waste.

The small animal corner is where things get even cuter. This area has tables where rabbits and guinea pigs are out so you can stroke them. Around the edge of the room are haybales to sit on and if you place a mat on your lap a member of staff knows you would like to hold an animal. There arnt any time slots so you can come and go throughout the day. The two staff on while we visited were great at giving us quite a few goes with the different animals. There are also chicks and giant rabbits in this area.

The girls also got a go at grooming the ponies, they popped on a riding hat & got to brush two of the cutest Ponies. This is on at selected times throughout the day.

The outdoor play are is huge and has so much to play on. There is a large climbing frame for older children with slides, swings & climbing walls. While lots for younger children too including play houses and smaller climbing frames. There is a wooden obstacle course to test your balance. A pair of racing zipwires with a good raised deck at one end so the kids can easily launch themselves off.

There is a lovely large beach area with the cleanest looking sand, a play kitchen & plenty of buckets & spades for the kids to use. Complete with a massive deck chair for taking a memorable photo.

Next to the beach is a quad bike track. You have to pay £1 for these but they are really cool ones. Plus there are plenty of other ride of tractors for free nearby.

The Bouncing pillows are brilliant. One for under 6 & a giant one for over 6 surrounded by sand so it’s super save when bouncing.

The tractor barrel ride was one of my favourites. This is £2 per person. It was so fast and bumpy, the driver made it lots of fun asking us if we wanted to go faster as we were being shaken about.

In the outside playarea there is a food hut. Offering a massive menu for how big the hut is. I was pleasantly surprised. You could order, breakfast sandwiches, burgers, salads, pizzas, chicken nuggets & chips. There was also the best icecream I’ve ever tasted. It’s soft scoop served in a cone or tub. I only had chocolate but it was gorgeous.

Picnics are also welcome and you won’t have a problem finding a table as there are loads of them dotted about the outside area. There is even a covered seating area if you want some shelter.

The farm has special events on during most school holidays including Dino Farm and Farm Fest but even on normal days when nothing extra is on you would still be able to fill a whole day playing.
