Queens Park | Crewe

What a great Park!  I’ve heard people suggest visiting Queens Park in Crewe on social media plenty of times and I finally got to visit myself.  Here’s Jenny, aka daysoutmealsout, Queens Park Crewe review.

It’s got everything you can wish for when on a park trip.  It’s a beautifully kept park with plenty of flower beds and trees, wide concrete paths perfect for bikes, scooters and pushchairs.

There is a gorgeous lake with a bridge across to an island with a bend on to site and take in the view.

During the summer months you can hire pedalos on the lake and play pitch and putt on the grass by the lake.

Queens Park Crewe Playground

Queens Park in Crewe has a playground with plenty of equipment for young and older children.  It even has a swing for children in a wheelchair which I haven’t seen before.  It’s a flagship playground for Cheshire East council with a grant leading to improvements this month (March 2022).

The refurbishments at the park include a zip wire, a heritage train feature, a new wheelchair-friendly roundabout and an adventure space featuring climbing logs. Significant improvements have also been made to the seating provision in the play area.

Crewe Park Cafe

The path takes you right round the park and is a good length, maybe 1-2km so a decent walk if you do a couple of laps and even better if you then land in the large cafe in the centre of the park.

It has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.  The outdoor area is on raised decking overlooking the lake and the putting green.  The menu in the park cafe has a wide selection of food including breakfast, hot and cold lunches, cakes, ice creams and some really interesting coffees and hot chocolates.

The Shanaze Reade BMX Track is found close to Victoria Avenue on the opposite side to where the lake is.  It’s named after Crewe’s Own Olympic BMX Racer, Shanaze Reade.

Crewe Parkrun

Crewe Parkrun takes place at Queen’s Park every Saturday morning and on a Sunday there’s a 2k Junior Parkrun for kids ages 4 to 14 years.

Queens Park Crewe Parking & Toilets

Toilets, including disabled and baby changing are located in lakeside pavilion.

There’s a large free car park located by the entrance.
