If you’re planning a family trip to Manchester and seeking a hotel that combines comfort, convenience, and a touch of luxury, the Manchester Marriott Hotel Piccadilly is the top contender. The hotel has redefined four-star luxury in the city after an impressive multi-million-pound transformation and was the perfect base for our family mini break in Manchester.
First Impressions
Situated just a short stroll from Piccadilly Train Station, the hotel’s location is ideal for families arriving by train and there’s also an onsite car park. The recent renovations are immediately evident upon entering the stylish lobby, where contemporary design meets warm hospitality.
Check in is from 3pm but we arrived early and our rooms were already available so we could drop off our bags before getting out to explore Manchester. We also loved that check out isn’t until 11am so not made panic to get packed up in the morning and you can relax over a leisurely breakfast.
Family-Friendly Accommodation
The hotel boasts some of the most spacious rooms in Manchester city centre, and as a family of five with two teens in the mix, this was perfect. Family rooms are thoughtfully designed with a king bed and a double bed, comfortably accommodating a family of four and even better – they have a Kids Stay Free offer!
For larger families like mine we had two gorgeous, interconnecting rooms – an Accessible Deluxe King and a Deluxe Double Double.
We loved the luxury of crisp hotel sheets and fluffy towels and had the best night sleep I’ve had in ages after a busy day of exploring.

Both rooms had comfortable seating areas with a huge TV and the decor is sleek and stylish with cosy touches.
Our visit was a kick start to the Easter holidays and there was a really sweet Easter Hunt Kids Activity at the hotel with a sweet treat at the end and this continues throughout April.
Breakfast
All tastes are catered for at breakfast from a buffet full English or made-to-order omlettes to continenal, pastries and cereals. The quality was excellent and we all went back for seconds!
Exploring Manchester
The hotel’s central location puts you in easy reach of Manchester’s attractions. The weather was wonderfully warm and sunny on our weekend mini break so we walked everywhere.
The newly opened Mayfield Park, a 6.5-acre green space, is just a short walk away and has a super cool playground. Manchester’s many cultural sites and shopping districts are easily accessible, making it convenient to plan family outings. We packed in a lot!
The Manchester Marriott Hotel Piccadilly successfully blends modern luxury with family-friendly amenities. Its spacious rooms, friendly service, and prime location make it an excellent choice for families looking to experience the best of Manchester.
