Little Chalfont Nature Park

Now this really is a hidden gem as far as I am concerned. It is a favourite with my toddler for an hour out in the fresh air.

The nature park is only a few years old and is accessed via the driveway to Dr Challoner’s High School on Cokes Lane. There is plenty of parking on Cokes Lane in the village car park (paid).

The Nature park is not for dogs due to it being a conservation area but it is great for a walk with the little ones. It is at it’s best in the Summer months with wild flowers and all of the butterflies fluttering around.

It is only a small space, remember you are in a village, but it is plenty big enough for young children to explore nature and enjoy the area which includes wooden carvings and storytelling seats.

There are information boards around the park and flattened grassy paths to try to stick to so that you avoid treading on the wild flowers during Summer months. There is also a climbing area of wooden logs and structures for children.

This is an accessible walk and great for a quiet buggy stroll or to meet a friend with a cuppa from one of the local coffee shops. There are lots of benches to stop and take in the peace.

As the seasons start to change it is a walk which always seems different and my children love it here. Just remember to respect the area as its beauty must be preserved.
