Gullivers World Theme Park, Warrington

Gullivers world entrance

Gulliver’s World theme park in Warrington is a fun-filled day out for families with children aged between 2 and 13 years. With plenty of rides and attractions, it offers a great value day out.

Caterpillar ride

The theme park has over 30 rides and 6 themed areas, plus lots of play attractions. One of the highlights for us was there were plenty of play parks dotted around, especially near the rides which had long queues which were perfect for the children and kept them going! Height restrictions do apply on the rides, on most rides children must be over 90cm, and on some rides, children can ride alone over 120cm. Most rides are fine though when accompanied by an adult.

Good selection of theme park rides for younger children

car ride suitable for younger children

The best thing about this theme park is there are plenty of rides for smaller children. Our 5 year old got to go on most things but one of the favourites was the dodgems…obviously, she went in the car with Daddy for that one! The tractor ride and the horse’s carousel were a big hit too…who does like riding on a beautiful pink horse?! Younger ones (over 90cm) are also allowed to go on the log flume – just make sure you take a change of clothes because we got absolutely soaked!

Plenty of other attractions throughout Gulliver’s World theme park

dinosaur walkway

There are lots of other attractions alongside the rides dotted around the theme park. There is face painting at Gully’s Cartoon Studios (additional charges do apply) or you can visit Smugglers Wharf to follow in the footsteps of Gulliver himself and learn about his adventures. Several play areas include a pirate ship, a castle and a sandpit, plus there is a tractor driving school. One of our favourites though was visiting the lost world and exploring the walkways of dinosaurs…some even came to life!

RAF Burtonwood Heritage Centre

RAF Burtonwood Heritage Centre

Not far from the entrance to the theme park you will find RAF Burtonwood Heritage Centre. The Heritage Centre was built on the site of RAF Burtonwood, formerly the largest airfield in Europe. If you are not visiting the theme park you can still visit the centre via the entrance in Gulliver’s car park. Please note that on certain days the Centre is closed if you want to call ahead to check it’s open you can phone 01925 444 888.

Visit the splash zone at Gulliver’s World theme park

This was closed during our visit, but we looked through the windows and saw the waterslides from the outside and it looked great! This indoor warm water adventure includes water sprays, streams and super slides! Please check the website for opening times. Please note the splash zone is not included in the theme park entrance you must book separately for this area.

Dining options at Gulliver’s World theme park

There is a good selection of restaurants and food stalls throughout the theme park offering a range of children’s and adult’s meals. We found most of these to be mainly serving burgers, pizzas, hot dogs, ice creams and snacks. We took a packed lunch with us on our visit as there were plenty of picnic areas and grassy areas available to sit down and eat.

Top tips for visiting Gulliver’s World theme park

Get there early as it can get busy! Take a spare change of clothes because we did get very wet on the water rides. If you visit on a hot day take plenty of drinks with you – some of the food outlets get busy and there can be long queues even for a drink!

Watch out as they do often have special offers available!

Overall, we had a great day out. We would say that this theme park does need a bit of investment as some of the areas look a little tired and the toilets could have been a bit cleaner (in my personal opinion!) but our kids loved it and keep asking when we are going back!
